Woodson Soccer Rules 2022
- All players are representatives of Woodson High School and are expected to act in a way that is an example to other students inside and outside of school. You are expected to follow all rules that are set forth in the SR and R as well as all school rules. Punishment for breaking school rules may require that the player to be suspended. Unacceptable actions, including hazing, that are deemed harmful towards teammates or coaches will meet with the coach and may be suspended from a game(s) depending on the infraction. The coach may add additional games or may remove the player from the team for repeatably breaking these rules.
- All players are required to be passing 5 classes at all times during the season in order to play and practice. The coach reserves the right to require players to take weekly grade sheets to her teachers if the coach is concerned about a player's grades. If a player is not meeting expectations in the classroom the coach can reduce playing time until the player’s grades are acceptable.
- Varsity Lettering:
- Be on the varsity roster for a minimum of 8 games.
- Be a player in good standing at the end of the year.
- Any player who does not reach the 8 game mark for the varsity roster will receive a Junior Varsity Certificate as long as they are in good standing at the end of the season.
- Social Media
- We live in a time of social media. I believe that it is important to help our students understand the power of this tool that we never had. Players are responsible for what they put on social media. If they release something that negatively impacts Woodson or the Women’s Soccer program here at Woodson, they may be required to lose playing time until the situation can be resolved to my satisfaction. This may be one game or a number of games depending on the situation, and depending on the severity could lead to dismissal from the team.
- Attendance
- Players are expected to attend all games and practices.
- If a player is not going to be at practice, they are expected to let the coach know either in person, by e-mail or text message prior to 1:00 the day of the practice. Please do not try to call as it is often difficult for a coach to receive phone messages.
- If a player is going to miss a game, the player should let the coach know as early as possible by e-mail (if it is the day of the game). If a player knows that she is missing a game in advance, she should see the coach in person and explain why the game is being missed.
-
-
- Excused or unexcused –
An excused absence includes the following
-
-
-
- School related activity such as a field trip.
(Making up work should be done on game days so that you are not missing practice time.)
-
-
-
- Being sick, going to the doctor or attending funerals.
An unexcused absence includes anything else not included above.
If you miss practice the day before a game for any reason, you will not start the following game and depending on the situation may not play.
If you miss a game for an unexcused reason, you may not play the following game and will need to meet with the coach to discuss your absence prior to being allowed to play in a game.
If you miss more than one game for an unexcused reason, the coach reserves the right to remove you from the team permanently.

- School Attendance
You are expected to attend school for the full

Attendance will be checked.
If you are missing school for an excused reason, you may not be allowed to participate in the game for that day. Excused reasons include but are not limited to school related trips, doctor’s appointments and funerals. Please let me know if you are missing school on the day of the game.
